Meet Elizabeth Leong
Meet Elizabeth Leong
My husband and I have been married for over 30 years. We spent the first 15 years of our marriage living in Singapore because my husband is from that part of the world and was working there at the time. All 3 of our now grown children were born there. While living in Singapore, our family was part of a missions-minded church, and I eventually joined the church staff as the Missions Administrator, helping to coordinate disaster relief in Turkey after the 1999 earthquake.
In 2001, my family and I left Singapore and moved to the Houston area. We started attending Faith Bible Church sometime in 2011. However, I felt a part of the Faith Bible family long before then as I had been teaching preschool at SonKids Preschool since 2005. At SonKids, I really felt that I had discovered what I was made to do, teach little ones about Jesus. In 2013, I volunteered to help the Faith Bible Missions Pastor with a local outreach that shared Jesus with children in the community. After volunteering for a while, the Missions Pastor hired me to coordinate that outreach and other Faith Bible local ministries.
Although my role in the Missions department has expanded since I was first hired, I still believe that sharing God’s love with those who have never had a chance to hear about it, and then discipling those who choose to believe in it, is the reason we are here on this earth. That’s why I have continued to serve in the Missions Department, to help others do just that. I am always excited by the stories and testimonies that come from those who Faith Bible supports in the mission field, both locally and abroad. My hope is that those same stories stir many in our church family to ask God, “how would you have me share your love with others?”
