Meet Lindsay Diaz
I have always struggled with anxiety. I worry…. Like a lot! I worry about my family, what others think of me, Am I doing enough?, Am I good enough? It can consume me at times.
For as long as I can remember, I have had faith and believed in God, but as my anxieties got bigger, so did God! The difference now is that I am sure of God’s love, forgiveness, and acceptance. He accepts ME, despite all my insecurities and fears. I know that it isn’t what other people think of me that counts, but it's what God thinks of me. And nothing in the world can stop Him from loving me.
In times of worry, this scripture comes to my mind, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
In my darkest times, when I feel like I cannot breathe, God sends me this message. God brings beauty from ashes. I trust God and find him to be a refuge, a safe place. I don’t need to worry about rejection from anyone. I have all the acceptance I need in Jesus so I don’t need to look for it in any other place or person. It’s not because of anything I have done, but it’s because of everything God has done. He’s the one who sent Jesus to bring me forgiveness.
God accepts me completely and unconditionally on the basis of what Jesus has done and welcomes me into His arms. He loves me so much that He would send Jesus to die for me.
God is my inner peace, a guiding light. I know I cannot do this life on my own. I have prayer and a relationship with Christ and an ever-growing network of people in my life at Faith that will help guide me along the way.
