Your Giving Matters

Dear Church Family,

Last week I “attended” a national online summit for church leaders on the current coronavirus crisis. Topics like virtual community and communication were extremely helpful. The current and future state of our economy were talking points that also grabbed my attention. They have been a matter of concern and prayer for a while now.

As you try to walk wisely in this time, please know that our church family, at a ministry and operational level, is doing the same. Our entire staff is working at full capacity. All of our ministries are active, almost exhaustively active in fact. April 1st was the official beginning of a new fiscal year for us. And although our new budget plan was nearly complete, we are starting over and reassessing the current and future needs of our church family, the current way we are doing ministry and potential timelines for the near future. Everything has changed.

Through it all, we want to continue to do robust ministry, be an even brighter light to our city, meet the needs of our family, our mission work and mission partners around the world, as well as provide for our staff, without losing a single one. In this arena, I would ask you to prayerfully remember and consider giving to Faith Bible Church. Click here to see how easy it is. If you’ve never given, consider starting now. If you have given, please continue. We need the whole body at this time. Please take a moment to watch the video at the top of this message.

Many in our community are already feeling the effects of a bridled economy. Some have lost wages. Thankfully, most continue to work, either remotely or in an altered fashion. Some are working more now than before. The theme in all of this is change. Change mixed with some amount of latent anxiety about the future.

If you are experiencing financial stress at this time, we would like to engage and help if we can. You can email FBCAssist@faithbible.church and one of our team members will connect with you. You can also email one of our incredible financial counselors at crownstewardship@faithbible.church. They have a wide breadth of expertise and compassion. A church family takes care of each other. That kind of resilient care and support is needed now more than ever.

Please remember, fear makes everything worse. Fear speaks lies and intentionally forgets God’s promises. It turns off all the lights and focuses only on the “what ifs.” But that is no way to live. God’s love has freed us from fear. We are no longer slaves to fear. We are His daughters and sons. His perfect love casts out all fear, for there is no fear in love.

I love you, church. Thank you for fulfilling God’s great commandment as well as His great commission in these days. I count it a privilege to be with you through it all.
