Meet Christin Aune

My husband and I moved to the Woodlands in 2013, pregnant with our first baby and no family close-by.  We both grew up in church and we knew how important it was to get plugged in so we started our search.  Our new friends invited us to try Faith Bible and later to their small group.  We loved the church but I didn’t know what to expect from a small group…was it weekly Bible study, potlucks, or a way to make friends?  It turned out to be all of that and more.  The existing families welcomed us and immediately made us feel at home. They became our family here, stepping in to help with sick kiddos, bringing dinner over on a hard day, and encouraging us to look to Jesus.  A lot has happened over the last 8 years for our group but the foundation of trust and love for the Lord has remained.  We have been blessed by this group’s many prayers and support for our family, and we have seen the Lord work in tremendous ways.

My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Seeing the Lord’s plan to provide us with a family here has been a joy.  If you are not in a small group, I encourage you to try one and see what the Lord will do!
